Rorik the Shield is a Nord that served in the Imperial Legion during the Great War before being discharged after a mission went awry. He became a mercenary afterward and was allowed to participate in the war once again where he became an enemy of the Dark Brotherhood for his part in assisting with the destruction of several Brotherhood Sanctuaries across Hammerfell. Following the end of the war Rorik returned to Skyrim working as a mercenary within Eastmarch and the Rift. When the Stormcloak Rebellion begun in force, Rorik pledged his services to Ulfric Stormcloak. He would later come into the service of Magus Atheron as part of the Oathbound.
