Rieltam is a continent just northwest of Tamriel. It is located on the planet Nirn, which is the mortal realm of the finite and partial, as opposed to the immortal realms of the infinite and the absolute. Mundus, another name for Nirn, is the Elvish root for the human word "mundane", meaning ordinary. Some, such as various cults, view Mundus as an extension of the realm of Oblivion itself.

The name Rieltam is said to mean 'Burning Heart', while according to the races that live there, it is the 'Gardens of Bless'. Some scholars on both Tamriel and Rieltam think that both ideas have merit, and combined the two, saying that Rieltam is the 'Burning Heart of the Gardens of Bless'. Both a curse and a blessing.

[edit] History

Recorded Rieltam history is divided into six distinct eras, the First Era, the Second Era, the Third Era, the Fourth Era, the Fifth Era, and the Sixth Era.

  • First Era - The long First Era is marked by the shifting of power from the Aensland trolls to the Blighters, and the birth of the two religions in the land. From Highcraft we learn of the struggling Blighters: from their miserable shipwreck to their finally being able to take much land form the Aensland trolls. From, Pudereed, the Aensland trolls are washed over by the Dirt Plague and fight many wars with the ascendant Blighters. The Council of Rieltam resulted in the Blighters allying with he Aensland trolls to fight in the First Invasion from Telus.
  • Second Era - The Second Era starts after the Death Horde has been defeated and their portal destroyed. This also the era when some of the greatest monarchs, philosophers, and religious idealists are born, and lived during. The Era finally ends after the first Blighter civil war, also known as the War of the Two Heirs.
  • Third Era - The Third Era, which Blighter historians describe as their races most glorious age, is the time of the Locvar Dynasty. In fact, the long line of Locvar Emperors almost reaches an end at several points in the history of this period. Some of the significant events is the second Blighter civil war, known as the War of the Three Kingdoms, and a long decade of warfare against and with the mer of Tamriel. Furthermore, this era is marked by the rebirth of the Underfykte Patron, Wowwiki the first king of the First Empire of Pudereed and the Troll-Blighter War that followed.
  • Fourth Era - In the beginning, several hundred years into the Era, of the Fourth Era, the Blighter Emperor was assassinated, with all of heirs. The Dark Horde, not seen for a millenia, invaded again. The Alliance of Blighter and Aensland eventually drove the Horde back and destroyed their magical portal.
  • Fifth Era - The Fifth Era starts after the Death Horde had been defeated and their portal destroyed once again. This was the most peaceful of all of the Eras, with not a single bout of warfare between either of the two races, Blighter and Aensland. Both Empires' economies grew, as did their militaries, for future warfare.
  • Sixth Era - The Sixth Era, which Aensland historians describe as their races most glorious age, is the time of the resurgence of the Aensland, and the creation of the Second Empire of Pudereed. Several wars occured between the Aensland and the Blighter, with the Blighter eventually conquered. The Aensland also discovered and invaded Tamriel during this Era. They managed to conquer Solstheim, Skyrim, and High Rock.

[edit] Government(s)

Rieltam was effectively two Empires until the end of the Pudereed War of Conquest. Techinically, the empire of the Blighters was called the Highcraft Empire, while the empire of the Aensland was called the Kingdom of Pudereed. The centre province of the Highcraft Empire was Highcraft itself, which was the home of both the Locvar Emperors and the Volcano Beauracracy, which serves adminsitrative functions and as an interim government during times of instability. Upon the death of the Emperor, the new Emperor is usually the oldest legitimate child of the dead Emperor. No spouses, younger children, siblings, or illegitimate children have ever taken the throne.

The centre province of the Kingdom of Pudereed was Pudereed itself, which was the home of the Underfrykte Patrons, and the Underfrytke Matrons, which serve as commanders of the army, and sometimes take control of the government for short periods of time. After the Pudereed War of Conquest the Highcraft Empire was absorbed into the Kingdom of Pudereed, which was renamed the Second Empire of Pudereed. Elements of both former governments now are part of the current government of the Empire.

[edit] Geography

Rieltam consists of five provinces, each of these provinces corresponds with the Blighters or the Aensland.

  • Highcraft, inhabited by Blighters, mer transformed according to their new environment. The province of Highcraft has strange ruins with strange runes crafted on them, standing timelessly above the surface of the volcanic fire province.
  • Pudereed, inhabited by Aensland trolls, intelligent trolls and the only trolls considered sentient, by scientists of Rieltam, Tamriel, and the other continents. The province of Pudereed is a misty, marsh land.
  • Thersan, inhabited by Blighters. The province of Thersan is an seaside paradise, and favored resort location for powerful and wealthy leaders of the Empire.
  • Cahe, inhabited by Aensland trolls. The province of Cahe is a misty, marshy land, that lies north of Pudereed.
  • Genferdumlow, inhabited by Aensland trolls. The province of Genferdumlow is a mountainous, hilly province, filled with canyons, caves, and mountain ranges.

[edit] Demographics

The main races of Rieltam are the Aensland, and Blighters.

  • The Aensland are intelligent trolls. They are considered as sentient beings and are strong, agile, and very fast.
All Aensland have enhanced senses and can see in the dark. Aensland have improved tissue regeneration. This allows them to recover from wounds quicker, and can make the difference between life and death. All Aensland bear the Trollkin curse, that makes them vulnerable to fire and diseases, and turns many of their offspring into the regular unintelligent trolls. Aensland are native to the continent Rieltam in the area known as Pudereed.
  • The Blighters are descendants of the original Aldmer, that's ship was lost in a storm on the way to Tamriel, and was drifted to Rieltam. They are live in Rieltam in the area known as Highcraft. They have dark red skin, and some skin disease causes them to have black lips and circles around their eyes.
Blighters are a very hardy people. They have major resistances to disease, poison, and fire, but they are extremely weakened by frost magicks. Living in a volcanic area has let them learn a magicka spell known as Embyr Touch, which is a very powerful fire spell used to great effect in the War of the Two Heirs and the War of the Mer.
Their skin is red because upon landing on Rieltam they settled near a volcano, now known as Death Mountain, and evolved to suit their new habitat.
