...I was tranced by her beauty. Women and affection never really were a major part of my life, but there was a certain trait in her that had ensnared me. And even at the tip of her blade piercing my flesh, my dying words to her were 'I love you'.

— Thorr speaking about Almalexia

Thorr SnowBlade is a Nord warrior and the protagonist for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. He is the failed reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar, the hero of the Dark Elves. Being a Nord, his gift from Azura came out quite a shock to the Dunmer, as they didn't expect their greatest hero to be reborn not as mer, but as a man. Nonetheless, they have eventually come to harbor a respect for him. He is also the step-brother of the Hero of Kvatch, Hakon StormBlade.

About Thorr[]

Not much of Thorr's past is known as of now. But it is confirmed that his father, the Hero of Daggerfall had abandoned his dying mother and Thorr himself, leaving the boy to grow as an orphan on streets of Bruma, Cyrodiil. Like his predecessors, Thorr bore a love for nature, fighting, and mystery. This inquisitive mind of this led him to an open-eyed and optimistic view on Tamriel and her inhabitants, notably the Dunmer, the neighboring race of his homeland, Skyrim. Ironically enough, Thorr desired to visit the province of Morrowind more than Skyrim, believing that the "alien provinces always give you a sense of exploration".

Personality-wise, Thorr bears little interest in women and love and focuses more on the thrill of exploration and learning new things. Due to his peaceful nature, he refrains from violence but will deem it necessary if need be. In battle, Thorr's wrath is swift and his might overwhelming, evidencing his deep Nordic roots. Another unique characteristic to Thorr, is that the nine divines don't seem to play a large role in his life, and particularly takes more interest to the Daedra. However, he knows very well that a wise man avoids such confrontations with these supernatural beings. (Azura being an exception, of course)

Biography[]

Before The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind[]

Thorr's family had very close connections to the Empire and Emperor Uriel Septim VII after his uncle had defeated Jagar Tharn. When Thorr was only two years old, his father (who had recently abandoned him and his dying mother) was sent to Daggerfall, High Rock, on an important mission by the Emperor himself, leaving him to be raised by no parent nor guardian for the remainder of his youth. Thorr was fortunately trained by retired Blades agents who were willing to accept some minor stolen goods that Thorr pilfered and offered to them as small compensation. He fought like an Imperial soldier, often causing confusion amongst the crowds when he would occasionally "play the hero game" by attacking fugitives in the markets or streets of Bruma. When Thorr was 24, he was mysteriously summoned by the Emperor personally and was requested to venture Morrowind for a task. He eagerly accepted the honor and neglected was the fact that Morrowind would forever change his life.

During The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind[]

After The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind[]

After the events of Morrowind, Thorr was anguished by the death of Almalexia after killing her under the divine authority of Azura. Dying and greviously wounded by Amalexia's flesh-tearing blade, Thorr was miraculously saved by Vivec, who renounced the error of his ways. Unable to cope with his own actions and decisions, Thorr had unwisely decided to resign from his oath to Azura and left Tamriel for the mysterious continent of Akavir, devising to spend the rest of his life in complete isolation from his former home and being induced with nightmares of that awful day. His last words on the soil of Tamriel were, The end of the story of the Nerevarine is not a happy one.

Trivia[]

  • His name is derived from Thor, the Norse God of Thunder. It is fitting since Thorr's surname bears the word "Storm".
