"an ebony dagger, with 'POENA' carved onto the handle. It glowed red..." - The Man Missing from Time (Chapter Four)
Poena is a unique ebony dagger belonging to Lucius Morningblaze in 4E, 201.
History[]
Not much is known about the history of Poena, but, at some point before the 18th of Last Seed, 4E 201, it found it's way into the hands of the bandits residing at Bleak Falls Barrow. The bandits kept it in a chest, presumably planning on selling it, as none of their members were skilled at fighting with a dagger.
On the 18th of Last Seed, 4E, 201, Lucius Morningblaze and Tauriel came to Bleak Falls Barrow, in search of the Dragonstone, for Farengar Secret-Fire. They killed the bandits, and Lucius took Poena, reasoning that it would be better than the Steel Dagger he had been using.
Later, Lucius uses Poena to kill both Mirmulnir and Sahloknir.
Trivia[]
- Poena is Latin for ''punishment'', ''pain'', and ''loss''.
- Poena has the design of an ebony dagger from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, suggesting that it is of Cyrodiilic origin.
